Ensembles
9th Grade Treble Choir
The 9th Grade Treble Choir is the vocal ensemble for all first year women in Walton Chorus. This choir performs three concerts a year and is evaluated at the Georgia Music Educators Association Performance Evaluations. Singers develop higher level thinking skills as well as life skills through the choral arts. Emphasis is on vocal development, choral blend, and music reading.
Men's Ensemble
Men’s Ensemble is comprised of Tenor and Bass singers in grades 9-12 that are not in A Cappella. This choir performs three concerts a year and is evaluated at the Georgia Music Educators Association Performance Evaluations. Singers develop higher level thinking skills as well as life skills through the choral arts. Emphasis is on vocal development, choral blend, and music reading.
Bel Canto
Bel Canto is an intermediate treble chorus for 10th grade singers. Students in Bel Canto learn music independently with an emphasis on performing at a high level of choral artistry. Bel Canto performs three concerts a year and is evaluated at the Georgia Music Educators Association Performance Evaluation.
Varsity Treble Chorus
Varsity Treble Chorus is the vocal ensemble for all 11th and 12th grade women in Walton Chorus that are not in SWE or A Cappella. This choir performs three concerts a year and is evaluated at the Georgia Music Educators Association Performance Evaluations. Singers develop higher level thinking skills as well as life skills through the choral arts. Emphasis is on vocal development, choral blend, and music reading.
Select Women's Ensemble
Select Women’s Ensemble (SWE) is an advanced choral ensemble for Sophomore, Junior or Senior female vocal students who demonstrate advanced proficiency in music reading, choral tone and rehearsal skills. Students in this choir are expected to practice independently outside class and are encouraged to audition for All-State Chorus. Membership in Select Women’s Ensemble requires additional time and commitment in rehearsals and performances. They perform in 4 concerts and LGPE. Auditions are held in April.

A Cappella
A Cappella is Walton's most advanced choral ensemble consisting of men and women who demonstrate advanced proficiency in music reading, choral tone and rehearsal skills. Membership in A Cappella requires additional time commitment in rehearsals and performances. A Cappella performs GMEA Class A literature and represents Walton in school and community events. They perform in 4 concerts per year and LGPE. Auditions are held in April and students must participate in Walton Chorus for one year prior to auditioning.
