Meet
the Director:
Jana Williams became the Walton High School Choral Director in 2003. She attended Shorter College and received her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees from Georgia State University. Additional summer study was completed at Westminster Choir College, Princeton, NJ, the Salzedo International Harp Institute, Camden, ME, the Aspen Music Festival and School, Aspen, CO and the Juilliard Choral Conductors Workshop, NYC. Mrs. Williams is a National Board Certified Teacher, 2003, and also holds Gifted Certification as well as AP Music Theory Certification. She was “Teacher of the Year” her first year teaching.
Mrs. Williams’ choirs have performed at the Internationales Adventsingen, Vienna, Austria, Melk Abbey, Austria, Basilica of San Zaccharia, Venice, Italy, Cathedral of St. Patrick, New York City, Carnegie Hall, New York City, the National Cathedral, Washington, DC, Governor Perdue’s Dinner for the Georgia State Legislature, Governor’s Holiday Open House, Cathedral of Notre Dame, Paris, and the American Cemetery in Normandy, France. Her choirs consistently receive Superior Ratings at the Georgia Music Educators Association Choral Performance Evaluations.
Mrs. Williams is an Adjudicator for the Georgia Music Educators Association and has conducted GMEA Honor Choruses. She has also accompanied many ACDA and GMEA Honor Choirs as well as Georgia All-State Choirs. Mrs. Williams’ husband, Brian, is the Choral Director at Lassiter High School.
